New Nokia 2.1, 3.1, 5.1 Low-End Smartphones Announced

HMD Global announced the Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 5.1 smartphone which is the successor of the Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 respectively. Along with these phones, the Nokia 2.1 is also introduced which is the Android Go-powered smartphone.

Let’s start with the Nokia 5.1, it got a change in the display. Now the phone sports a 5.5-inch 2,160 x 1,080 18:9 IPS LCD screen. It is powered by the MediaTek MT6755S chipset. The Nokia 5.1 will come in two RAM and storage variants 2GB RAM and 16GB storage or 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage which is also expandable via the hybrid slot.

The Nokia 5.1 packs a single 16MP rear camera and an 8MP selfie snapper. It also features NFC and fingerprint scanner. It is backed up by a 2,970mAh battery and runs on Android 8.0.

The Nokia 3.1 is the next smartphone in the list which is the successor of the last years Nokia 3. It sports a 5.2-inch 18:9 (1,440 x 720) HD+ resolution display. It is powered by the MediaTek MT6750 octa-core chipset. The phone comes in either 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage or a 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage.

In terms of camera, the Nokia 3.1 has a 13MP f/2.0 main camera. It is fueled by a 2,990mAh battery. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

The Nokia 2.1 is the low budget smartphone from the HMD Global. It comes with old 16:9 aspect ratio 5.5-inch display with 720P HD resolution. It is powered by  Snapdragon 425 SoC coupled with 1Gig of RAM and 8GB of internal storage.

The Nokia 2.1 has front-facing speakers and has the same 8MP/5MP camera pairing. It is backed up by a  4,000mAh battery. It is the second device from HMD Global with Android Oreo Go Edition.

The Nokia 5.1 will come in copper, tempered blue and black colour and the price starts at 189 euros (roughly $218/ Rs 14,777) and goes all the way up to  219 euros (roughly $254 / Rs 17217). The Nokia 3.1 will be available in blue and copper, black and chrome, and white iron colour combinations and the pricing of the lower end variant is 139 euros (roughly $160 / Rs 10845) and the 3GB RAM variant cost 169 euros (approx. $196 / Rs 13285). The Nokia 2.1 will come in blue and copper, blue and silver, and grey and silver colours. The Nokia 2.1 will available at a price of $115 (roughly Rs 7,795).

The Nokia 5.1 and 2.1 are expected to be seen the market in July whereas the Nokia 3.1 will be going to launch in the month of June. There is no word on the availability of these smartphones in the Indian market.
